QRNN
Alamo's Revenge x Double Wide (Achor) x All Day's twin sister
While Revenge's time here was all too short, he left us with a very capable replacement to his legacy in Max who is even stouter in his bonework than his sire, more moderate in his frame, way cooler in his rib shape, and more tucked up in his chest floor.  Max saw limited use as a lamb due to his age and rough start to life, but the results were spectacular.  So, as a yearling last year, he filled his daddy's role as our lead sire and the results just keep getting better!

(Achor 433)
Kool Aid x Hardwood
QRNN

Thanks to Bruce Achor for allowing us to purchase an interest in this unique young sire.  He’s moderate, big boned, wide topped, huge hipped, and has exceptional volume and shape of muscle.  He offers an intriguing opportunity to introduce the popular Kool Aid bloodlines (owned by Shroyer) while tying into Hardwood’s bloodlines which already to run deep in our flocking, allowing us to remove some of the uncertainty and variation of bringing in an outcross.  Because of Kool River’s young age and moderate size, we were only able to get a few ewe lambs bred to him late last fall, but he certainly didn’t disappoint.  He will definitely be getting a larger group of ewes this fall.  Owned with Bruce Achor.

Revolution

Revolution

Bred by G&G
QRNN

Alamo x Hardwood x ICE
This is the April ram lamb that caused such a stir as soon as his picture was posted on our site last spring.  We feel he possesses many of the attributes we have been searching: moderate framed, rugged skeletal design, unreal width down his top, the fullest, widest, squarest hip that we have ever had on the farm, tremendous volume and shape of muscle all the way down through his stifle, yet he is smooth and shallow in his should structure and tucks his chest up beautifully.  We are really anxious to get lambs on the ground by Revolution because they could be something special!

Alamo x Hardwood x Ice

Revenge has the same dam as Jacob and simply put, he’s the most exciting young ram we have ever put out.  He stands on monster bone, has enough shag for 3 rams, his chest is up in his throat, his flank is deep, his hip is wide, level, and square and he’s got tremendous depth of twist and stifle shape.  Almost forgot, he also stands on the best feet and legs we’ve ever used with a killer profile and you want to talk about cocky?  The only time you’ll see his head down is if he’s eating or checkin his girls.

Sasquatch x double bred ICE
QRNN

Owned with HSE Club Lambs

We sold half of this ram as a lamb and used him lightly that first year, with really good results, but then we didn’t use him for a couple of years.  After looking at what his few daughters have done for us and the job he has done for HSE, we decided we need to bring him back last fall and did it ever work!  He produced some outstanding wethers and an exceptional set of ewe lambs.

Extremely popular Peterbilt sired wether shown at
San Antonio in 2013

Bones (Guywire x Demon from Shell) x
Achor 6999 (Aztec x the Cabaniss 118 son that sired Ultra).

After one exciting year, Hardwood has gained many fans and proven himself as a truly elite sire in both our flock and Bruce's.  He consistently improves every ewe he is bred to and produces fantastic show wethers, females, and sire prospects as equally well as any ram we have ever seen.  Everyone that sees him is amazed at his perfect lines, his natural firm touch, his powerful bone work, his extreme rib shape, his excessive loin shape, and his big full hip.  All this and he maintains a stunning profile with ample volume and expression of muscle.  And to top it all off, he has SHAG galore!  And the best part of all, he consistently produces those traits in is progeny.  This picture doesn't do him justice, it was taken with a cell phone about a week into his first breeding season and all he wanted to do was get back to his girls.  Thank you Bruce for allowing us to purchase an interest in this exciting young sire.  Co-owned with Bruce Achor.

Hardwood x Stone Cold

Structurally, you can't design one much better than this guy.  From a huge foot, up through massive bonework, great feet and legs, super extended up front, incredibly clean through his chest floor, super neat in his outer shoulder, really neat ribbed, long level and smooth down his top, super loin edge which ties in high and wide to a wide, full, level hip.  Not to mention that he has a great hide, is super shaggy, and carries lots of hamp character.  Pretty as a picture doesn't even start to sum up this one.  We think if we can put him on some thick, powered up ewes that just need a little more look, the results could be awesome.  But once you get done staring at him, he puts together some really interesting genetics as well.  You have Hardwood and the incredible consistency he brings on the top side.  Then on the bottom, his dam is a young Stone Cold daughter who is quickly proving to be a top producer and her dam was a Pretty Boy daughter out of a Broadway daughter who just happened to also be Pretty Boys dam (son x dam mating).  Pretty Boy was also the sire of our 2005 MWSRS Supreme Wether Dam.  So, his genetics are just as intriguing as his looks.

Alamo

Alamo Full Brother

Bred by Miller Hampshires
QRNN

Maker x Miller Master

Several trusted sources had suggested that bringing in some Miller genetics to cross with our Hardwood bloodlines could take our program to another level and as soon as we saw the first Maker sired lambs, we thought that this could really be what we were looking for in an outcross. When Derick told us how good both Alamo and his twin brother were, it gave us that much more assurance of the genetic potential that Alamo could possess. So, without having even seen him in person, we pulled the trigger and bought Alamo before someone else snatched him up and we couldn't be happier with our decision. As you can see, Alamo has grown into an extremely impressive yearling as he possesses many of the same structural and muscular traits as his twin brother, who gained many admirers en route to winning Grand Champion at the 2012 San Antonio Livestock Show and Rodeo. Best of all, we have Alamo's first set of lambs on the ground and they are impressive. They consistently have incredible rib shape, stout bone, excellent feet and legs, and exceptional muscle shape. So, long story short, it worked! Special thanks to Jimmy Davis for helping locate Alamo for us. Owned with Bruce Achor.

ICE x Stone Cold daughter

This is the ICE son we were looking for.  He is elevated upfront, long and level down his top, extreme in his width and flatness across his loin, ties perfectly into his hip, is blown apart in his pins, and still carries a tremendous amount of very pleasing muscle shape down low in his twist and stifle.  He possesses one of the most unique fronts we have ever seen in a sheep with tremendous width of chest floor yet clean through the outer shoulder, and unbelievably clean chested. Iceberg is the most unique combination of power/carcass traits with showring appeal that we have ever used here at G&G.  Combine these phenotypic characteristics with his lined up genetic package, being ICE on a Stone Cold daughter, and his potential is limitless.  His dam is exactly why we brought Stone Cold in to line up with ICE.  When she was only a couple of months old, I said that she was the ewe that would produce the ICE son we have been looking for and when we lost ICE about a month before she was due, I looked at her and just hoped that she was carrying a ram.  Well, she was and he has exceeded all expectations.

Hardwood x Maverick x ICE
DECEASED

This sheep possesses the most extreme hip of any sheep we have ever produced.  He is dead level, extremely wide, full, and high in his pin set yet he is also extremely deep twisted and thick through the stifle.  The rest of this sheep is pretty darn good too, he's really extended up through the front, neat through the outer shoulder, really good in his rib with a stand up rack shape, he blends well into a good loin edge that ties really wide into his hip, and he has an excellent set of feet and legs and good bone, but its just hard to get past how good this sheep is in his hip and butt!  His dam is a first time lamber out of Maverick, which brings in the Ultra and Jesse James lines, and his granddam is one of our best ICE daughters who is out of our best ewe line (same ewe line as our 2005 Supreme Wether Dam at the MWSRS) who also produced the standout ewe lamb we are taking to Sedalia this year.  Thanks for all of the wonderful compliments from all of those who got to see him at Bruce's last fall.  And a special thanks to Bruce Achor for purchasing half of this outstanding young sire.

When we found Sasquatch at Bruce's last spring, we knew we had to take him home to compliment Hardwood.  Talk about being current and trendy in design!  This guy is big footed, massive boned, elevated in his chest floor, extended and youthful in his front end, wide down his top and out his hip and super powered up through his middle leg and stifle.  And he is hampy and super shaggy to boot.  We are really excited about the pieces that Sasquatch brings to our program and we can't wait to get him lined up with more Hardwood daughters and watch the champion banners roll in.  Thanks to Bruce for parting with this special young sire.

Bred by Bradley & Brian Johnson

Kool x Studly daughter. ICE was the tremendously square, level designed ram lamb Johnsons kept in 2004 who possessed one of the most exaggerated top and rib shapes that I have ever seen in a sheep. He threw all of these features consistently in his first lamb crop for Johnson's along with the trademark Kool touch and tremendous bone and soundness. Every time that I stopped by to look at Johnson's ram lambs throughout 2004, Bradley would ask me which one I liked the best and my answer was always that ICE was the one I would most like to breed to our ewes. So I asked Bradley and Brian to give me first shot at him if they ever decided to sell ICE. When Brian called in the spring of 2005 and offered to sell, it was really an easy decision to make. Ty Allen's response when I asked his opinion of ICE was that he is the best mature ram Johnson's have sold in at least 4-5 years.  Brian has even expressed regret over his decision to sell ICE, especially after watching his lambs grow out and seeing the performance of his daughters, but, we are extremely grateful that Brian and Bradley sold us ICE as he has met and surpassed all of our expectations for him. So much so that we have decided that we will focus our program around ICE's genetics going forward. With this in mind, we went out and bought 2 very closely related rams to compliment ICE, see below for more details.
Unfortunately, we lost ICE back in March, 2008. This was a major loss not only to our program, but to the wether industry as a whole. ICE was one of those truly exceptional sires that doesn't come along very often and we are thankful that we were fortunate enough to have been able to use his services for 3 strong breeding seasons. His tremendous influence will continue on in our flock through his many outstanding daughters as well as several exciting sons.

Outkast x ICE's dam. This lamb was extremely popular this spring at Johnson's and, in fact was one of the Outkast son's that they were considering keeping for themselves. Being out of ICE's dam, he combines the same kind of outstanding parallel lines, square structure, muscle shape, and touch that ICE possesses along with the added bone and extension of Outkast. All of this and he even has added width through his pin set in comparison to ICE. These attributes should make him an outstanding compliment to his brother, ICE. Thanks to Bruce Achor for finding this tremendous lamb and thanks to Johnson's for allowing us to buy this exciting prospect. Co-owned with Bruce Achor.

Kool x Scooter daughter who is ICE's maternal half sister.

This is the Kool son that Barton's purchased as a lamb in 2004. We were so impressed by the way this buck grew out and considering how closely he is related to ICE, that it was another easy decision to add him to our ram battery when we learned this past summer that he might be available. He has the same kind of top & loin shape and touch as ICE in a slightly bigger more extended package, making him an ideal cross for ICE daughters, as well as numerous other ewes in our flock. When we mentioned to Brian Johnson that we were looking into buying Stone Cold, he instantly told us that this was another buck that he always thought he may have made a mistake in selling and he offered to partner with us on him. Well considering the success that we have had with Bradley and Brian's genetics and the friendship that we have built over the years, this wasn't a very difficult decision either. Co-owned with Bradley & Brian Johnson.

Stone Cold x Weatherby daughter who is lined up Billy The Kid bloodlines and is quickly becoming a top producer for us, her 2007 ewe lamb (who was a full sister to Silver Bullet) was our extremely popular Natural ewe lamb that sold to Majors Club Lambs at the Mid West Stud Ram Sale in 2007. Silver Bullet combines tremendous center body dimension, a super wide top from front to back, great loin shape, a level square hip, an abundance of muscle volume with super expressive shape, and stout bone work. All of this plus he still maintains really parallel lines, a great look, a really firm touch, and unbelievable length of body. Plan to take a look at Bullet's lambs this spring, they are unique!

We see a lot of the same traits in Glacier as with ICE and with this maternal family, he's a can't miss. Pictured at 105 days old.
Thank you to Brian Johnson for buying half interest in Glacier!
After producing a powerful set of lambs for Brian in Oklahoma this spring, Glacier has returned home and will be our lead sire for the 2009 lambs, taking over where his daddy left off. Glacier has grown into an extremely impressive yearling ram and we are anxious to see his lambs in the spring.

Jesse James x
a daughter of Bruce Achor's Grand Slam son (Johnson 2)

This late March, 2005 lamb has grown into an impressive young stud. He displays his sires growth, great pattern, and perfect structure along with a little more volume of muscle and more length of body at the same stage. With the quality that we see in his first limited set of progeny, we decided that we needed to hold on to him and use him and his sire to concentrate on these bloodlines and also to cross onto the ICE bloodlines which are planning to concentrate on heavily. Thanks to Sean Garred, Garred Stock Farms, for purchasing half interest in the exciting young sire!

Bruce Achor’s Billy The Kid son x Pretty Boy’s full sister. This exciting young stud was one half of an outstanding set of twins. His twin brother sold as a ram to the May family of Fayette County, PA. Jesse James combines tremendous growth and frame size with exquisite lines and profile. He also possesses a tremendous thin silky hide and a rock hard touch. Magnum x Studly daughter

Weatherby was Johnson’s keeper ram lamb in 2001. He was then purchased by Ott Club Lambs in 2002 as a yearling. When the Ott’s told us that they were considering selling him, we jumped at the chance. Weatherby's neck comes out of the top of his shoulders and he has lots of bone and muscle. He is a classy heavy muscled ram. Bradley described Weatherby as Cobra fronted and throws hard handling, big, expressive tops. We are excited about Weatherby’s addition to our program and the potential he adds to our ram battery. We own him in partnership with Bruce Achor.

Length, bone, growth, rib shape, hip, massive muscle volume, touch ... he is awesome! This outstanding Johnson ram produced our first Pennsylvania State Farm show Grand Champion in only his first lamb crop.

We have used Intimidator extensively in our program for the past 3 years and have kept an outstanding set of his daughters, who are really starting to impact our program themselves. These factors considered along with this years new additions to our ram battery have forced us to make the difficult decision to offer Intimidator for sale.
